Did you know that since mid 2000, the Irish State has issued over 2.8 million PPS numbers to the people from all over the world?

It’s an official fact – Ireland has accepted almost 3 million people into the country since the year 2000 to live, work and gain access to the all social services which includes the public health care system, and we know this because the State gave each and everyone a PPS number to do so and published the numbers.

Ireland has been filling up for a long time – but did you realise you had already seen nearly 3 million people pass through the doors?

To put that figure in the population frame overtime. Ireland’s official Population in 2002 was 3.9 million people and by 2022 that has risen to 5.12 million based on the latest census.

If someone told you in the year 2000 that 3 million people from the rest of the world pass through Ireland as migrants of whatever type or reason, would you have believed them?
