Freedom Is No Small Thing

It is bigger than all of us.

In these times of never ending urgencies, I was reminded of a 9 year old starting point list I had scribbled on a few post-its of fundamentally important things.

I thought about it as an exercise and decided it would be a good idea to revisit this list approach within the crucible of the current state of the world today and see what mattered most, so here is the latest iteration of that list:

  • Freedom of Speech
  • Freedom of Food
  • Freedom of Shelter
  • Freedom of Family
  • Freedom of Property
  • Freedom of Borders

Start as you mean to go on.

Art Of The Post-It

Freedom of Speech is no small thing

It is actually a lot of really really big things, really important things.

The political and media pressures being applied to Freedom Of Speech in Ireland and around the world, are like tanks rolling up to the steps of the people attempting to secure, with looming threat of force, “Hate Speech” laws, such an idiotic term acts as a dark totem, the kind only block-headed central controllers feel safe to gather round.

It is no more fundamental than attempting to outlaw the expression of emotion.

A base attempt to outlaw ultimately the expression of Love and the ability of people to share their common experience of being alive.

Having thought a lot about Freedom of Speech and all that it entails, here is another sub-list from the opening root freedom, all those really bigs things;

  • Freedom to Speak.
  • Freedom to Listen
  • Freedom to See
  • Freedom to Think
  • Freedom to Understand
  • Freedom to Express
  • Freedom to Love

When ruling bodies attempt to enact laws to deny one or all of these things, it is nothing less than an assault on the senses, an assault on your being, nor does the attack land at only the source of the soon-to-be forbidden freedom, but lands on the toes of everyones inalienable rights to one degree or another.

You didn’t get to hear what they had to say.

You didn’t get to see what they wanted to show the world.

Someone else decided they knew better before you (absent consent), on your behalf, and on everyone else’s behalf.

That’s the definition of Tyranny, but in reality it looks more like a Government implementing a Day Care for all social policy.

The true value being denied to you is the potential-value of freedom of expression and speech manifesting in your life for good, that is the intended target, your own inalienable agency where you decide if you like or don’t like.

It is harder to get back that which is lost, than to defend that which you already have.

For so long in Ireland the messaging through the lapdog media and pay-for-play politicians, has been relentless in trying to convince you that you do not actually have freedom of speech, and so when it comes to the time of taking it away using absolute legal means, it is hoped you will not put up a fight because you should believe (after much marketing or propagandising aimed at you) that you do not have such a right, let alone an inalienable right that belongs to you to keep, hold an use and is also your children’s inheritance.

Such an idea is a contemptuous lie. That is being enabled using a trick. Where others “feelings” trump inalienable rights, because “victims” said so. This trick is ancient but it can not be allowed stand.

Nor can you defend your freedoms under attack with such lies if you do not have these freedoms in the first instance, and make no mistake you have them.

When a force tries to shut down freedom of speech, it is by default infringing upon not one but all these freedoms and trying to deprive you of your gift of birth or birth rights.

This is also another reason why it is so important to regularly exercise such gifts as rights. To challenge bad or brutal ideas that might become real force of law or justification for much worse.

Yet, it is sometimes even more important for people to express their hate whatever way it manifests, otherwise we are being led to believe rather laughably, that people must bottle up their emotions and if they cannot they will go to jail, and things will work out just fine.

It is harder to get back that which is lost, than to defend that which you already have. Thus, that which you do not use, withers away unnoticed without a bang and soon enough you or your children are the recipients of State-Love forever and ever.

I can think of no other loss of freedom than the loss of Freedom of Speech being anything other in Life than a virtual death, of varying magnitude depending on the level of attack or curtailment against your Freedoms, heralding a devastating descent in the quality of life stakes, being the the things that sustain a people.

This is why the stakes are so high and the recent protests get close to zero coverage in the Irish media.

It is yet another betrayal and attempt to curtail or kill off your freedom of growing through the freedom of knowing, trying to imprison your mind in a forever day care.

The Irish people have a right to speak about what they hear and see, they are each born with that inalienable right, and what they think about any of those things and to also see, hear or speak the contrary so they too can understand even more the reality of their life, and lives together, and if then that forms as an expression of their Love in a manner of concern exactly as the protestors have done for their neighbours, then that encapsulates all our freedoms in one beautiful movement.

The people have moved and they are like water, and no one but GOD can tame the seas or oceans, and when the dam of censorship breaks, the water is unstoppable.

The Good News is, the Dam has broken.

Therefore and for starters, nothing less than a new Bill of Rights for the Irish nation with the most profound and robust recognition of Freedom Of Speech and Expression known to man being ratified and implemented constitutionally by the people for the people, will do.
