Refugees For All (local) Housing Lists

But for how long?

The X user @Deiscirt (Kevin Parlon) discovered around five thousands failed asylum seekers were counted on the housing waiting list as of 2023 – shocking as that may be too many it is probably not all that surprising, yet the real or bigger story here is that this is not a new feature of the social housing waiting list, no, it has been a potential feature since maybe as early as the late 90’s but definitely since 2008.

2008

Looking over the 2008 summary of social hosing needs the document described the reality of the housing list in a manner that feels more honest and clear than anything you might read today, and if you said out loud this kind of basic common clarity in front of a camera as if some social media darling, then you would expect to find yourself in some hot water with the need for social media time out to recoup!

2008 Housing Assessment “refugees” – Easy to read and understand the dynamics of the data:

The 2008 summary provided a County Council and Town Councils breakdown of the varying types of refugees and failed asylum seekers and so on:

Number of Non Eu-National Household (by County Council) 2008
Number of Non EU-National Households (by Town Councils) 2008

Do you remember reading anything about this in the 2008 Irish media?

Maybe you remember further back?

If so post in comments or on twitter but for now you can see from the historical government data & housing policy since reaching decades back, that there has truly been no housing crisis only a growing crisis of systemic #HousingTreason passed from one government to the next with ever more fever in out-housing the Irish vs the non-irish, in what can only be seen as a great project to house the entire world in Ireland at the expense of the native Irish – which is population replacement or ethnic cleansing by another name and another avenue.

It is as if now history is to be repeated and bettered!
